In the world of performing arts today, ticket income rarely manages to cover operating expenses. However, Oregon Stage Works has just received an exciting grant from the Meyer Memorial Trust that has enabled us to fill the position of Theatre Arts Manager. In this position, the Theatre Arts Manager will guide the business side of our company including fundraising efforts, helping us to develop into a fully self-sustaining arts organization. While thrilled by the long-term potential of Oregon Stage Works and grateful for the Meyer Memorial Trust's acknowledgment of our efforts, we nonetheless must depend upon your financial support to keep our doors open and the stage illuminated.

Oregon Stage Works is a cultural resource for the entire region. Each year we offer a 12-month Main Stage subscription series that is entertaining, thought provoking, and representative of American theatre at its finest. Our programming also includes the Playwright's Unit whose members include a number of award-winning writers gathered for the development and production of new American plays. Our Ashland Children's Theatre provides an exciting array of classes and performances for our youth. These programs swing open the doors to the imagination by engaging children in the limitless world of literature and live performance, enhancing self-esteem and providing learning experiences that last a lifetime.

Many, many people volunteer their time and skills to keep Oregon Stage Works running. They staff the office and box office, perform in our plays, build sets and costumes, and provide a host of other services. However, financial support is equally critical to our efforts. We depend of your partnership and on your generosity to support the continued presentation of terrific plays with skilled actors and innovative directors in an intimate setting. Your contribution will help in the ongoing creation of a theatre that celebrates the American stage through exciting new works and classic dramas, as well as vital programming for our community.
